On July 26, 2018, MLCD District Manager Dani McGarry spoke to the Ludington Rotary Club about the Household Hazardous Waste Clean Sweep coming up on August 18, 2018. 

McGarry noted that in 2017, a total of 91,000 pounds of materials were accepted in Mason, Manistee and Oceana counties during Clean Sweep events.  The greatest type of materials collected were electronics at 34,281 pounds.  Annual event expenses range from $45,000 to $85,000, depending on what is collected.  93% of the event expenses are spent on collection expenses.
